The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have a rather interesting schedule this season. They open the season against the Tennessee Volunteers in what shouldn’t be the easiest of games. Week One will give the best preview about the direction of the season.

The Volunteers could come and blow them out or the Georgia Tech defense could prove to be a formidable opponent. As of now, the oddsmakers favor the volunteers by about three points. The Yellow Jackets could pull off the upset so it serves as a good test for them.

The out-of-conference schedule also features a UFC squad led by quarterback Quinton Flowers, who is a playmaker with both his arms and legs. Under the direction of head coach Charlie Strong, he should have a strong season.

In conference play, Georgia Tech faces some tough road games against the Miami Hurricanes and Clemson Tigers. Their Triple Option will be tested against two hard-hitting defenses in both of those games.

A final road game against Duke is the final straw in conference play. After a possible road upset of the Virginia Tech Hokies (Sorry Hokie fans), the Yellow Jackets could very well lay an egg.

Prediction: 6-6 (5-3 ACC)

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets finished last season by winning six of their last seven games. Before that stretch, they were 3-3 and at a crossroads in the middle of the season.

Somewhere along the line, they flipped the switch. As they enter the 2017 season healthy and without distractions, they should be a team that pushes other teams in the Coastal division for the title.
