North Carolina Tar Heels

2006 impact player: Ronnie McGill, HB #25, 87 overall
Today: QB Brandon Harris

I remember nothing about McGill. I do remember using that LSU team with Bradie James and one of the Booty brothers (maybe it was the Marlins third baseman?) to beat my brother while running Joe Lee Dunn’s 3-2-6 defense to drive him insane. I’m not sure why I’m telling you this other than to point out that Dunn was a pretty fun dude and I was a jerk while playing video games although I do punt on 4th-and-long and play within the confines of a real game.

North Carolina would’ve had guys fighting over the impact spot in 2016, but in 2017 there are many more question marks since Mitch Trubisky and Ryan Switzer have moved on. I could see EA drooling over Brandon Harris as the games were always filled with overrated hype players, especially a mobile QB with how the focused on the zone-read in 2014’s game.

Harris scored 17 touchdowns in 2015 when he had more starting time and threw for 2,100-plus yards. Harris will be tasked with running the option from the gun in Fedora’s offense. He’s an intelligent kid that was hindered in Les Miles boring offense and doesn’t fit Ed Orgeron’s desire for a more pro-style based offense.
