Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

2006 impact player: Eric Henderson, RE #56, 97 overall
Today: RB Dedrick Mills

The Yellow Jackets had a highly ranked defense by EA in 2006. Henderson only lasted a couple of years in the NFL but he had 10 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks in 2005. Back then, GT was running a pro-style offense with Chan Gailey as head coach, Patrick Nix (wow) at offensive coordinator and Tenuta blitzing like crazy as the defensive coordinator.

Today, the impact player is Dedrick Mills. He is a 227-pound B-Back in the Flexbone offense. That makes him a fullback that carries the football. Mills ran for 771 yards and 12 TDs as a freshman.

Mills was kicked off the team on Aug. 18 and Georgia Tech is going to struggle to replace that productivity while breaking in a new quarterback. The Flexbone that Paul Johnson runs requires a chemistry between the QB and B-Back especially, and the wingbacks as well.

Who will be the next impact player for the Yellow Jackets? Right now, it’s tough to tell.
