1. Ty Isaac leads Big Ten East in rushing touchdowns

Michigan is more sound on offense than on defense. With four returning starters, they at least have some experienced players ready. One of those is senior Ty Isaac. One of a handful of seniors on the Michigan roster, Isaac could pave the way for success on offense for the Wolverines.

Sophomore rusher Chris Evans will split carries with Isaac. Evans was handed the ball 10 more times than Isaac in 2016. De’Veon Smith was the starter last year but he’s out of eligibility.

Evans averaged 7.0 yards per carry last year. He’s a threat to make big things happen whenever he touches the ball. Isaac is a bigger back that could steal goal line carries.

With the quarterback position in flux, Harbaugh should look to his running backs in the red zone. Isaac should get some of the 10 touchdowns that Smith racked up last year.
