No. 46: The White Stripes – Seven Nation Army

Year Released: 2003
Billboard Hot 100 Chart Peak: 76

I’m sure when Jack White recorded this millennial anthem his intent was not for it to become a standard in the folder of every marching band in the country, but that’s exactly what happened with Seven Nation Army.

The rule of thumb is probably stated that if your marching band plays it, you’d best be playing it at your tailgate.

Despite the over-saturation by brass and woodwind ensembles everywhere, this remains a tune worthy of the playlist. It’s heavy, it hits hard, and it has a more than memorable hook. Be sure you crank this one up to 11, if you’ve got the stones.
