2. The opening weekend was not very exciting

Most people are just excited college football is back. However, this was supposed to be the most exciting game of the weekend. Oregon State could have turned around their fortunes from a season before. The Beavers did not have a good run in 2016 and that could very well continue in 2017.

This game began as an exciting back and forth shootout in the first half. The Rams blew it open in the second half. The most you can hope for in this type of game is an exhilarating result and game to watch. Things didn’t get much better throughout the afternoon. Several less-than-famous teams played rather dull games that ended in onesided defeats.

We can hope that the results from this weekend carry us over to the games next weekend. Alabama takes on Florida State in one of the best matchups of the year. Even Thursday night has some games that are worth a tune in from the average college football fan.
