Adam Breneman is one of the best tight ends in the nation

UMass tight end Adam Breneman started his senior season off with a bang. The former Penn State tight end transferred to UMass after knee injuries derailed him in Happy Valley.

Breneman took advantage of the change of scenery and resurrected his career in Amherst with a solid junior season, finishing the year with 70 catches for 808 yards and eight touchdowns.

This emergence for Breneman made people take notice of his talents once again. He earned a spot on the John Mackey Award watch list for 2017, which is given to the nation’s top tight end annually. Breneman showed why he is already catching the eye of NFL scouts as one of the top tight end prospects next year.

Breneman picked right up where he left off in 2016, finishing the season opener with nine catches for 179 yards. Listed at 6-foot-5 and 255 pounds Breneman has prototypical size at tight end and may be someone to watch throughout the year on an otherwise unimpressive Minutemen squad. Even in the loss, Breneman shone bright.
