Stanford had the most dominant performance of any team last weekend. It might not have been the most impressive or surprising, but the Cardinal defeated Rice by a better margin than they did last year. A lot of that is thanks to Keller Chryst.

Both Chryst and junior running backs Bryce Love and Cameron Scarlett totaled six touchdowns combined. A 62-point effort from Stanford answered the question of how explosive their offense could actually be. Chryst did not have to do much but he was good when called upon.

With more than 250 passing yards and two touchdowns, Chryst did what he needed to for Stanford to keep the chains moving. Chryst did not have production quite like Hawaii’s Dru Brown or Colorado State’s Nick Stevens, but he did show he can lead this team.

Stanford gets the week off next weekend before traveling to The Coliseum to face quarterback Sam Darnold and the No. 4 USC Trojans. That’s the chance for Chryst to establish himself as one of the best quarterbacks in the PAC-12.
