College Football: Overreaction Monday Week 1
3. No Road Wins For Oregon State
Gary Andersen has been the head coach for the Oregon State Beavers since 2015. And one thing has been a reoccurring theme in his tenure: no road wins. In 2015 when he went on the road, it was a matter of how bad the Beavers would get beat. That season they posted a -141 scoring differential on the road in six games.
In 2016, they were outscored by 95 points in five road games. And this season they opened up on the road against Mountain West foe Colorado State. They suffered another defeat. They lost by 31.
Since 2015, their average deficit of defeat on the road is 22.25 points! On average, they lose by more than three touchdowns on the road. The game against Colorado State was supposed to be their “gimme” and they floundered it away.
It does not get any easier on the road for the Beavers. They play Washington State, USC, California, Arizona and the Civil War is at Oregon this year. They still have to show up and play the games, but on paper it does not look like a road win will happen this year.

If that happens, Andersen will never get a road win for the Beavers because he will not be at Oregon State in 2018. Maybe, he should have just stayed at Wisconsin and won road games.
