Texas pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the 2015 season when they defeated the No. 14 Baylor Bears who were without a starting quarterback. At the time, Baylor saw quarterbacks Seth Russell, Jarrett Stidham (now with Auburn) and Chris Johnson go down with injury. They had to start converted receiver Lynx Hawthorne for most of the game.

Baylor was not able to get revenge on Texas last year. The Horns upset Baylor at home to nearly give them a boost toward bowl eligibility. However, that loss to Texas was part of a six game losing streak for the Bears.

While Texas has a full roster of talented, and sometimes proven players, Baylor does not. Sophomore quarterback Zach Smith might not be the starter behind center at this point in the season. That would leave Arizona transfer Anu Solomon as the starting QB.

Texas has had Baylor’s number the last few years. The last time Baylor defeating Texas was in 2014. The winning streak should stretch to three games against Baylor for Texas in 2017.
