Big 12 Football: 5 teams on upset alert in Week 1 of 2017
Eastern Washington has become notorious for giving FBS teams a huge challenge. Both Texas Tech and Eastern Washington have great offenses and defenses that will give up points. Texas Tech’s defense is going to allow points to anyone.
If Nic Shimonek does not put up a good amount of points, the Red Raiders could be in trouble. Receiver Keke Coutee is Shimonek’s best target. He also has Cameron Batson and Dylan Cantrell as weapons in the receiving corps.
Senior running back Justin Stockton could be the most productive player on the Texas Tech offense. He’s primed to have a season like De’Andre Washington had his senior campaign back in 2015. Stockton is primed for a 1,000-yard season on the ground.
There’s a legitimate chance that this game comes down to the wire. Eastern Washington is a good team and Texas Tech has a head coach in Kliff Kingsbury that’s on as hot of a seat as anyone. A loss to Eastern Washington could seal his fate.
