Here’s how to stream college football’s premier pregame show, College GameDay, as they broadcast live for the second time this holiday weekend.
College GameDay opened their season on Thursday at Indiana. However, it wasn’t a “real” GameDay. They broadcast from inside Memorial Stadium right before the game. There wasn’t that alive background of hundreds of fans holding signs. The atmosphere didn’t feel like what we have become accustomed to. That will be rectified on Saturday.
Despite broadcasting from a neutral site like the brand new Mercedes-Benz Stadium, it will feel more like the traditional on-campus shows. Alabama and Florida State fans both travel well. The show is setting up outside the stadium on an island of grass in downtown Atlanta.
Alabama has been featured on College GameDay more than any other school — a staggering 39 times. Florida State is fourth with 33 appearances. Both schools have a sour taste in their mouth from the last time they were featured on the show. Alabama lost in the College Football Playoff National Championship to Clemson on a last second drive. Florida State got walloped 63-20 in Louisville in a game Lamar Jackson built the foundation of his ultimately successful Heisman campaign upon.
Lee Corso enters Saturday’s show with a 1-0 record in headgear picks. The coach, still going strong in the show’s 25th season, picked Ohio State on Thursday night despite his ties to Indiana and being honored during the game by the school. He will have another head against heart decision on Saturday with his alma mater Florida State. It will be easier to justify backing the Seminoles though, as they are just 7-point underdogs.
New cast member Maria Taylor takes over for Samantha Ponder, who left to host ESPN’s NFL studio show, Sunday NFL Countdown. Serendipitously, Taylor will be working in her hometown of Atlanta in her first weekend on the job.
