3. The Maryland Terrapins have a leader in Tyrrell Pigrome

The Maryland Terrapins entered this game as huge underdogs, on the road at that, but they delivered a solid performance. Quarterback Tyrrell Pigrome did all he could with both his arms and his legs, oozing with the potential that earned him the starting job this fall.

Pigrome was 9-for-12 passing with 175 yards and two passing touchdowns. He bounced back nicely after throwing a pick-six on the game’s opening drive. He also has 11 carries for 64 rushing yards and a touchdown in the game.

Unfortunately for the Terps, Pigrome left the game with an injury in the second half but backup quarterback Kasim Hill looked prepared as well. Hill went 3-for-3 passing for 44 passing yards. He also had a big rushing touchdown late to put the Terrapins up 44-34.

Pigrome also used his weapons well. Running back Ty Johnson had 12 carries for 132 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. Wide receiver D.J. Moore had seven receptions for 133 receiving yards and a touchdown. Wide receiver Taivon Jacobs had three receptions for 80 receiving yards and a touchdown.

It was a great start for D.J. Durkin and the Maryland Terrapins to kickoff the 2017 season. It looks like their offense is in good hands.
