Louisville Football: 5 overreactions from win over Purdue
3. Louisville finishes in the middle of the pack in the ACC
With the season-ending injury of star sophomore Florida State quarterback Deondre Francois, the ACC should be Clemson’s for the taking. However, Louisville is the second-highest ranked team in the conference behind Florida State. Counting Louisville out completely would be a mistake.
The ACC has some quality middle tier teams. The NC State Wolfpack, Wake Forest Demon Deacons, North Carolina Tar Heels, Duke Blue Devils, Miami Hurricanes and Virginia Tech Hokies are all solid.
However, considering Miami or Virginia Tech a middle tier team could be short-changing them. Virginia Tech won a huge game against the West Virginia Mountaineers over the weekend. Louisville might be an underdog against Virginia Tech if they played in Week 2.
The good news for Louisville is that they avoid playing both Miami and Virginia Tech this year. Yet, a few slip ups from the Cardinals like they did against Kentucky and Houston last year would cost them dearly.
