Quarterback Anthony Brown is off to a 1-0 start after defeating the Northern Illinois Huskies 23-20 in a tough road battle. Brown became the first freshman to start at quarterback since the 2009 season (Dave Shinskie). He led the way for the offense with 191 passing yards, two passing touchdowns and one interception on the day.

His biggest highlight was on the final drive of the game. Brown went 5-for-7 with 38 passing yards on the team’s final drive to put them in field position for the game-winning field goal. Kicker Colton Lichtenberg put through a 37-yard field goal to give the Golden Eagles a 23-20 lead with 2:13 remaining.

The Huskies went on to go on a 53-yard drive of their own in the final minutes, but their kicker missed a 39-yard field goal off the post with 21 seconds remaining in the game to give the Boston College Golden Eagles the victory.

It was a good road game to have on the schedule for Boston College and they did enough to get the victory. The offense made strides with 339 total yards and 21 first downs but they were 9-of-24 on third down conversions in the game.

They host the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, another team looking to gain some respect in the ACC. It should be a defensive battle there so expect another shake up in the power rankings.
