Utah looked like a well-oiled machine against FCS North Dakota on Saturday. Tyler Huntley looked comfortable in his first start at quarterback, Zach Moss rolled up 128 rushing yards, and the Utes notched a comfortable 37-16 win. On its home turf, Utah’s defense allowed just 55 rushing yards and held the Fighting Hawks under 50 percent passing.

Confident after an easy win to open the season, Utah now turns its attention to another installment of the Holy War against longtime rival BYU. Last season, the game went down to the wire. BYU scored with 18 seconds remaining, but elected to go for two and the win instead of tying the game at 20-20 with an extra point. The Utes defense held on the attempt, and Utah prevailed in Salt Lake City 20-19.

This year the Utes travel south to Provo for the non-conference rivalry game. BYU has already played twice with mixed results and enter the game 1-1 on the season. The Cougars took down Portland State 24-10 at home in Week 0, then collapsed to a 27-0 shutout defeat against LSU in Baton Rouge a week later.

Utah looks like a Pac-12 South contender at this moment, but BYU has faced stiffer competition than the Utes so far this season. Back on their home turf, the Cougars will keep this contest within the 3.5-point spread and could take out their Pac-12 rivals outright.
