The Syracuse Orange had an easy win in Week 1 vs. Central Connecticut out of the FCS. With a healthy Eric Dungey, Syracuse should be good enough to make a bowl game this year. That starts with beating a good offensive team in Middle Tennessee.

The Blue Raiders have one of the best Group of Five quarterbacks in redshirt junior Brent Stockstill. Wide receiver Richie James is not just one of the best among Group of Five teams, he’s one of the best in the country.

Even though Middle Tennessee lost their Week 1 game to the Vanderbilt Commodores, they’re still a very good team that’s going to be a challenge for Syracuse. Yet, Middle Tennessee lost to a very respectable Vanderbilt team in Week 1.

Syracuse is less than a 10-point favorite in this one. They’ll need all hands on deck to pull out the victory. If they want to compete with some of the better teams in the ACC this year they need to win these kind of matchups.
