3. The Tar Heels’ offense is still a work in progress

The North Carolina Tar Heels may be wise to throw out a two-quarterback system in their game against the Louisville Cardinals after their 35-30 to California.

Quarterback Brandon Harris threw two interceptions which proved costly, so he may not even see the field. Even then, his counterpart Chazz Surratt threw for 161 passing yards and a touchdown on 18-for-28 passing.

More from Louisville Cardinals

For the most part, the Tar Heels offense looked very much like an unfinished product in their season opener and it showed with their obvious let down in the win column.

The North Carolina running game showed up. They had 219 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns. Surratt had 66 of those rushing yards and a rushing touchdown.

Running back Michael Carter 11 carries for 94 rushing yards and two touchdowns but once again, it seems Larry Fedora is primarily focused on throwing the ball.

Wide receiver Austin Proehl needs some help though. Proehl had four catches for 55 receiving yards but other than him, the receiving corps looks pretty bare for North Carolina.

If Surratt is going to lead the way with both his arm and legs, the Cardinals’ defense shouldn’t have a hard time preparing for that. A win for Louisville is imminent.
