2. South Alabama scores less than 20 points

South Alabama struggled to keep up with Ole Miss. Quarterback Cole Garvin did complete more than half of his passes for 204 yards and one touchdown. Garvin will get the start again this week in what could be the Jaguars’ toughest matchup of the season.

Running back Tra Minter is another name to watch. Minter totaled 83 yards on 12 carries last week. However, Oklahoma State’s front seven looked very good for most of the Tulsa game. They could hold strong this week as well.

The Pokes did not allow a single passing touchdown last week. Especially against a usually great offensive team like Tulsa, shutting out the opposing quarterback is impressive. South Alabama’s offense is not in the same league as Tulsa.

The chances that the Jaguars stay in the game are low. However, the chances that they score more than 20 points are decent. We do not have a good idea of how good the Oklahoma State defense will actually be yet. A lot depends on how long Mason Rudolph and the offense stay on the field.
