Ole Miss Football vs UT-Martin: 3 Bold Predictions
1. Ole Miss wins by 45 points
The Rebels needed a 27 point third quarter to pull away from the Jaguars in Week 1. This team isn’t going to a bowl game in 2017 and they have plenty of other off-field issues to work through. The players can’t control that. All they can do is go out there and play the game.
Ole Miss is going for style points this year. They don’t need to grind every week and go undefeated. It’s just not realistic. But getting the right combination of packages and schemes in place to go toe-to-toe with Alabama and LSU is certainly something that interim coach Matt Luke will be focused on.
Luke, who was appointed to lead the team this season after the resignation of Hue Freeze, needs a few resume-building wins if he wants to have a chance at keeping the head coaching gig for himself next year. Nobody expects him to run the table, just to be competitive. That starts Saturday with a blowout win over UT-Martin.

Dvaughn Pennamon will get plenty of work on the ground. A.J. Brown and D.K. Metcalf, last week’s leading receivers, should both top 100 yards receiving in Week 2. Ole miss leads by five touchdowns at half time and continues to add on insurance points for the next two quarters.
