4. Christian Kirk gets a special teams touchdown

One of the more underappreciated facets of the successful UCLA comeback last weekend was the disappearance of Christian Kirk in the return game. He only managed to break one long return and that play was called back by a penalty. Instead, the Aggies began that drive inside their own 10-yard line.

Kirk won’t be silenced for much longer. The junior playmaker already owns five punt return touchdown in his Aggie career and is on a warpath to further shatter the Texas A&M school record.

Texas A&M has trotted out a consistent stream of elite pass catchers. Mike Evans was a first round pick, Josh Reynolds was a fourth round selection. Even Ricky Seals-Jones has Sunday talent and is working on the fringes of an NFL career. Kirk might be more electric and dynamic than all of those guys.

A week removed from a lot of bad news and sour tastes, Kirk is going to bust a long special teams score that earns him a spot on this week’s SportsCenter Top 10. It won’t make last week go away, but it will make the future a little bit brighter.
