3. Dru Brown will break 300 passing yards against UCLA

Josh Rosen won’t be the only quarterback experiencing success at the Rose Bowl in Week 2. After transferring to Hawaii out of junior college last year, Dru Brown quickly took the reins of the Rainbow Warriors offense. Against California, Michigan, and Arizona, Brown was still second on the depth chart.

By the end of the yaer, Brown had started the last 10 games of the 2016 season. The Hawaii quarterback broke the 300-yard mark twice and nearly did so a third time. Though he did not play high-level competition on par with UCLA, Brown has already posted a few big numbers this year. In the road opener at UMass, Brown threw for 391 yards and three scores.

Now a junior, Brown has made the Hawaii position his own. While he had much less success against Western Carolina, throwing for 154 yards and two scores on 11-of-21 passing, Brown did not need to pass much. The Bruins had a great start to the year as they held Nick Starkel and Kellen Mond to 89 yards on 9-of-20 passing.

The passing defense has been solid, but the Bruins also face a more experienced quarterback. Brown enters his second season as the starter more confident in his ability to lead Hawaii’s offense, and that confidence will get another big boost at the Rose Bowl in Week 2.
