UCLA football: 5 bold predictions vs. Hawaii game in Week 2
By Zach Bigalke
2. Caleb Wilson will top 200 receiving yards again
In just one game, Caleb Wilson has already come within just 12 yards of his receiving totals from 2016. The tight end played in eight games last year on offense, catching 16 passes for 220 yards. It was a solid redshirt freshman season by the former walk-on. He is already looking to break out as one of the top tight ends in the country as a sophomore.
Against Texas A&M, Wilson helped fuel UCLA’s comeback. He was too much for Aggies defenders to handle, as he finished the night with 15 catches for 208 yards. The only thing that Wilson was unable to do in the season opener was find the endzone in the victory.
With Rosen set to have a big day once again, Wilson will get plenty of targets. The Rainbow Warriors are not nearly as stout defensively as Texas A&M, and this game could get out of hand quickly. Wilson is going to exploit the Hawaii secondary all game long up the seams.
In the end, Wilson will top 200 receiving yards for the second straight game. As a result, he will lead all tight ends in receiving. He will also come away with at least one touchdown catch, and more likely two or more.
