4. Oregon wins the Pac-12 North

Willie Taggart’s turn arounds have been a lot like his mentor Jim Harbaugh‘s. Every stop has a bad season before a better season leading to the season that gets him the next job. Willie is at the last job now that he’s landed in Eugene. The facilities are second to none and it’s a beautiful place to live. He can always hop on Phil Knight’s private jet and go back to the Tampa area to enjoy the warmth and beaches and recruit Hillsborough where he’s a legend.

Taggart had the fortune of luring in a great coaching staff, and some early issues aside, they’re obviously doing great things with these Ducks. Jim Leavitt knows the Pac-12 and he knows how to get an attacking (cliche but true here) defense that will run. They’ve recruited well and Willie’s a lot like Harbaugh getting max output from young talent like the highly ranked recruiting class Mario Cristobal signed his first season in Eugene.

The true competition for Oregon in the north are Washington and Washington State. Mike Leach always wins one big one and gives up one he shouldn’t. I’m going to predict Wazzou upsets Washington but drops one to Oregon giving the Ducks a clear path to be North champs and a showdown with the USC Trojans.
