1. Bret Bielema’s days in Fayetteville are numbered

Bielema is one of the most entertaining head coaches in college football. Yet, he’s had trouble getting Arkansas past the level of mediocrity. Not much progress has been made since his tenure in Fayetteville began.

We’ll see what happens when Bielema has to utilize his last few recruiting classes to replace the departing Austin Allen. It will be one of the first seasons that Bielema will have exclusively his own recruits to work with to establish his scheme.

There’s quite a few head coaches in the SEC that are on very hot seats. Bielema is not a name frequently mentioned on those. But the patience of Arkansas fans has to be running low as they want to see a season where they contend in the SEC West.

Another six-win season would likely let Bielema keep his job for at least another season. Yet, if the Razorbacks are not bowl eligible at the end of the year, fans will probably start trying to call for Bielema’s firing soon enough.
