Orange Bowl

Capital One Orange Bowl: Florida State (ACC) vs. Penn State (Big Ten/SEC/Notre Dame)
Where: Hard Rock Stadium (Miami, Fla.)
When: Dec. 30 at 8:00 p.m. ET on ESPN
Last week’s projection: Florida State vs. Penn State

Aside from Florida Atlantic last week, the state of Florida had no teams in action due to Hurricane Irma and one of those teams that was affected was Florida State. They are still feeling the effects from it as on late Saturday night it was announced that they will not play Miami this week and that game has been moved to Oct. 7.

As for a team who played this week, Penn State along with Washington has moved into the discussion of a potential playoff bid. On Saturday, the Nittany Lions beat in-state rival Pitt and righted a wrong from a year ago, now they will play Georgia State this week. However, it’s the fourth week of the season that will be most interesting and that is a trip to Iowa City to face the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Week 3 Impact: There will be little to no impact this week as Penn State has an easy opponent and the Seminoles are off another week due to Hurricane Irma. However, if there is a chance that Penn State were to get upset (highly unlikely) but if it were to happen, look for Georgia or Wisconsin to step in the role of FSU’s projection opponent when this article comes out next week.
