1. Urban Meyer lost his team after Clemson loss

The turning point of the Ohio State football program could have been their College Football Playoff semifinal loss to the eventual national champion Clemson Tigers last year. It ended Ohio State’s season in embarrassing fashion after a 31-0 defeat.

It looked like the Buckeyes had already forgot about that loss when they pulled away against Indiana in the second half of their season opener to the tune of a 49-21 win. However, this effort proved otherwise.

Head coach Urban Meyer is one of the best of this generation. Yet, he has a major problem on his hands to deal with all this talent not meshing well. With a senior leader at quarterback, solid combination of running backs, and the best front seven in the country, you’d think that Ohio State is in great position to contend for a national championship.

Meyer still has some work to do before Ohio State can make a real run at the Big Ten Championship. Barring a close loss to Penn State last year, the Buckeyes could have played in the title game. They do have an uphill battle in front of them.
