3. Virginia Tech will rack up over 500 yards of offense

The Virginia Tech football team took some steps backwards on offense this past week, which is odd considering the talent levels. Against the Mountaineers, the Hokies offense produced 469 total yards of offense. This past weekend, they produced 303 total yards of offense. Granted, the amount of plays against West Virginia were 72 and against Delaware the playcount was 57.

The level of expectation against a team like Delaware is to dominate all facets of the ball. The defense didn’t allow a point, after all, allowed 223 total yards of offense and forced two turnovers in the game. The offense seemed a bit out of sync against the Blue Hens last week. This week, though, they should have shaken the nerves out.

The Pirates serve as a solid opponent, but the Virginia Tech Hokies beat the Mountaineers. East Carolina lost to them by 36 points. As a result, the Hokies should put up over 500 total yards of offense. It will be a big statement game before Virginia Tech football enters ACC play.

They are in good shape so far, but can always improve as the season goes along. Here’s where they boost the confidence on offense with a big overall game.
