ACC Football: 5 teams on upset alert in Week 3
The beginning of the college football season has been rough for the UNC Tar Heels so far. They were upset by the California Golden Bears, in their home stadium, in Week 1. Last week, they fell victim to Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson in a 12-point defeat.
Now, UNC travels to Norfolk to face a quality Group of Five opponent in the Old Dominion Monarchs. Old Dominion defeated the UMass Minutemen and Albany Great Danes in their first two games. However, they have yet to see a team as good as UNC.
A smart bet this week might not be to pick Old Dominion to defeat UNC completely, but to at least beat the spread. The Monarchs are a 10-point underdog, which seems a little bit unfair for an undefeated team hosting a winless team at home.
This is a great opportunity for the Tar Heels to get back on track. Head coach Larry Fedora would love to bring a rebuilding UNC team to a bowl game to hopefully make a better run at the ACC in 2018.
