1. Zach Smith throws for more than 300 yards

With former Arizona transfer quarterback Anu Solomon going through concussion protocol right now, sophomore Zach Smith is now the starting quarterback. Solomon struggled through the first two weeks, largely due to poor offensive line play.

Smith was the projected starter entering the season and gets throw into a big spotlight now. He’s barely attempted even one pass this year. You have to wonder if there was a bigger reason why Rhule did not give Smith the starting nod sooner.

The last time that Smith got the start, he led Baylor to a huge bowl win over the Boise State Broncos. However, this is a very different Baylor offense that he has the keys to now. He has to trust starting running back John Lovett to take some of the pressure off.

Duke has not allowed much of anything in the way of passing yards against either Northwestern or NC Central. However, Baylor presents a much different challenge if they can get the passing game going. Watch out for Smith to have a big game, even if Baylor does not come out on top.
