3. Duke beats Baylor by three touchdowns

Even if Baylor makes some significant progress this week, they’re still facing one of the better teams in the ACC. Something will have to completely change in the dynamic of this squad for them to pull off the upset in Durham.

The fact that Duke is only a 14-point favorite is a bit surprising. Northwestern looks like a much better team than Baylor and the Blue Devils beat them by 24 points. Baylor is also starting a raw quarterback for the first time this year.

Duke quarterback Daniel Jones totaled four touchdowns against a good Northwestern defense last week. Jones should have himself quite the day against an inexperienced Baylor secondary. Only one of Baylor’s four starters in the secondary is not a freshman.

Much of this experience will be learning for this young Baylor squad. They need to see a well-coached and talented team to prepare themselves for the Big 12 slate. The Bears are given no favors as they have to face the No. 2 Oklahoma Sooners next week to kickoff Big 12 play.
