UCLA Football: 3 bold predictions against Memphis
2. Riley Ferguson keeps pace with Josh Rosen
The quarterback matchup will be the focal point of this game. Ferguson threw for less than 100 yards in a downpour in Memphis’ first game against UL-Monroe. The rain kept either quarterback from achieving much that game.
As long as the weather stays clear, expect the Memphis passing attack to come out in full force. Wide receiver Anthony Miller is one of the very best in the nation at his position. Miller and Ferguson have the ability to pick apart secondaries easily.
If Memphis can match Rosen and the Bruin offense blow for blow, then this game could be a very entertaining shootout to watch. Even without much support from the passing game in Week 1, Memphis still put up 319 rushing yards and four touchdowns.
UCLA cannot sleep on the potential of this Memphis team. We did not get to see them in Week 2 as their matchup with the UCF Golden Knights was canceled due to Hurricane Irma. We should see a rested and ready Memphis team this week.
