3. John Lovett rushes for 125 yards and a touchdown

In the absence of Terrence Williams and JaMychal Hasty, John Lovett has actually performed admirably. He’s racked up more than 160 rushing yards and two touchdowns through two games and could add to that total this weekend.

Duke’s defense only allowed 18 yards from one of the best running backs in the country last week in Northwestern’s Justin Jackson. However, the focus of their defense should not be on Baylor’s run game. Instead, Duke should have some gaps in the box early on.

Lovett is getting more and more comfortable in this offensive scheme. It’s only a matter of time before he finds his way. Yet, it might be time for him to hit the bench again by the time that is ready to happen.

He will still split carries with Williams and Hasty once they return. Lovett has done more than prove his worth so far. He is the running back of the future for Baylor and could be the focal point of the offense next year.
