4. Mississippi State upsets LSU

LSU is another one of my top five overrated teams of 2017 that will prove me right in Week 3. New football, same old story for the LSU offense. The Tigers run the ball really well with Derrius Guice, but have difficulty passing the ball that can only be rivaled by the Florida Gators.

I don’t understand how SEC teams have such difficulty getting quality play from their quarterbacks. It has to be coaching; because I refuse to believe they SEC teams can’t get talented quarterbacks in all those top 20 recruiting classes.

The recipe to beat LSU is a simple one. Put every player in the box to stop the run, play one-on-one coverage on the wide receivers, and dare. Mississippi State’s offense is much improved from last season. The Bulldogs return Nick Fitzgerald at quarterback, and he has played very well in their first two games.

Anyone who thinks LSU will run away with this game is sadly mistaken and in for a rude awakening. Mississippi State wins 27-19.
