Notre Dame football is coming off a tight loss at home to No. 15 Georgia and will look to build off that effort with a big win at Boston College.

Notre Dame will travel to Boston College to continue what has become somewhat of a newfound rivalry over the last few decades. The teams have met 20 times since the rivalry truly began in 1992, and have each seen their fair share of winning streaks over their recent stretch of games.

The Eagles kicked off their first meaningful streak in 2001, a streak which would finally come to an end with a Notre Dame victory in 2009. That win would commence a stretch of wins from the Irish that has yet to be broken.

Their most recent contest, a game that saw Irish quarterback DeShone Kizer battle it out with one of the nation’s best defenses, ended in a 19-16 Notre Dame victory. The thin margin of victory had appeared to have impeded an Irish playoff run, while a home loss undoubtedly still leaves a sour taste in the mouth of Boston College.

Needless to say, this is much more than simply two unranked teams grudging through another Saturday. These teams are playing for the pride of their respective coaches, teammates, and fan bases alike.

With both teams ready to lay it all on the line once again, here are three bold predictions in regard to what we may see out of one of Notre Dame’s more intriguing matchups this season.
