Ohio State Football: 3 bold predictions for Army matchup
By Jesse Smith
2. The Buckeyes secondary will play better
So at the beginning of the season a lot of people looked at the Buckeyes secondary because of the talent they lost due to the NFL Draft. Three of their four starting are playing on Sunday’s and all three were first-round picks (Gareon Conley, Marshon Lattimore and Malik Hooker), so naturally people expect some type of drop off.
At a school like Ohio State they don’t rebuild they reload, while they have some super talent this group hasn’t gelled yet and they have been getting torched early in the season. This unit has given up 806 yards in two games which averages out to 403 yards per game and if they don’t get that averaged lowered opposing teams will be licking their chops to see the scarlet and gray on the field.
Army only has 17 yards passing total in two games this season so the secondary will get relief, but they will need to tackle because of the style Army plays.
Damon Arnette, Kendall Sheffield, Jordan Fuller, Damon Webb, Denzel Ward and crew better days are ahead.
