The 12th-ranked LSU Tigers haven’t been beaten by the Mississippi State Bulldogs since the 2014 season. In fact, the Bulldogs have defeated the Tigers just twice dating all the way back to the 1999 season.

Both teams are sitting at 2-0 with all the confidence in the world. If you’re a team in SEC football country, that’s always a good thing.

The Bulldogs traveled to Louisiana Tech last week and won convincingly 57-21. This week, they host another team from Louisiana looking to do the same thing in conference play.

Quarterback Nick Fitzgerald is a gamer who would love to pull off the upset. He’s got 363 passing yards and five passing touchdowns this season.

On the other side, the Bulldogs are sure to have their hands full trying to contain Derrius Guice. Guice ran for 102 rushing yards and two touchdowns last week against UT-Chattanooga. He’s got two games with over 100 rushing yards already this season and looks to make it three against the Bulldogs.

Mississippi State holds the edge at quarterback but everywhere else, they’ll have to answer the call or LSU could run away with this one. Don’t count out the Bulldogs, though.
