2. Josh Adams is a Heisman contender

Running back Josh Adams has been stellar out of the backfield for Notre Dame. He put on an impressive performance against the Boston College which should solidify him as a legitimate Heisman contender.

Adams ran for a career-high 229 rushing yards on 18 carries for the Fighting Irish in Week 3. He didn’t score a touchdown, but he let Brandon Wimbush take care of that.

He had 12.7 yards per carry in the game and was otherwise unstoppable minus not reaching the endzone. His longest run came on a 65-yard on a simple run up the middle, although he had two rushes for 65 yards in the first half.

He broke a tackle and broke out down the middle of the field, getting stopped just short of the goal line. Adams entered the game with 38 carries for 214 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. After this week, his carries and usage are certain to go up even more.

Look for him to begin to get some national attention as well, considering the teams on their schedule. They still have to play No. 4 USC, No. 17 Miami and No. 19 Stanford.

Big performances there could elevate his status even more as a Heisman candidate.
