1. Brandon Wimbush is going to take this team places

Notre Dame football didn’t get the greatest performance from quarterback Brandon Wimbush in the passing game, but he made up for it with his prowess running the ball.

Wimbush ran for 207 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns to lead the way for the Fighting Irish offense. They did well to use a solid dose of Wimbush and Adams to run all over the Golden Eagles defense.

The Fighting Irish put up 515 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns. Wimbush wasn’t the only one who scored either. Running backs Dexter Williams scored two rushing touchdowns and Tony Jones Jr. scored a touchdown.

Wimbush has a chance to lead this offense but he’ll have to get better in the passing game for balance-purposes. He was 11-of 24 for 96 passing yards and an interception in the game as well. If he can find that balance, he will take this team places. Notre Dame could find themselves as a darkhorse candidate in the College Football Playoff although they have a loss.

Wimbush seems to have found his confidence and his stride. If he can keep it up, this team could have 10 victories before it’s over. He’s got a weapon in the passing game (Equanimeous St. Brown) to carry him, he just has to find him open downfield.
