2. J.K. Dobbins may take Mike Weber’s carries

Running back J.K. Dobbins has made it difficult for the Ohio State football coaching staff to keep him off the field this season. The true freshman out of La Grange, Texas, has played huge after opening Week 1 as starter.

Dobbins ran for 172 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries. He broke out in the second half for a 52-yard run to start the offensive onslaught for the Buckeyes in the second half.

Dobbins had 253 rushing yards and a touchdown entering Week 3. As he leads the running game, Mike Weber could be looked upon to do other things.

Running back Mike Weber had four carries for 13 rushing yards in the game but was used sparingly in favor of Dobbins. As Dobbins emerges, now may be the time to explore using Weber in the passing game.

He’s fully capable as he caught 23 receptions for 91 receiving yards last season. When needs come up, players step up to fill the void.

Right now, the biggest need is a threat in the passing game. Although he’s a running back, Weber has the ability to lineup as a receiver and catch passes as well.

Something to think about as he’s nursing a hamstring injury.
