The Virginia Tech Hokies turned a corner on offense in Week 3. They struggled in the early going, leading 23-17 at halftime but the adjustments paid off in the second half.

The Hokies put up 675 total yards of offense, quarterback Josh Jackson had five passing touchdowns and wide receiver Cam Phillips had three touchdown receptions.

Phillips set the Hokies’ single-game record for receptions as he caught 14 passes for 183 yards and three touchdowns. He’s now second all-time on the Hokies’ career receptions list.

Next on the agenda for Virginia Tech is Old Dominion, who just took a thumping from ACC Coastal rival, North Carolina, 53-23.

The Clemson Tigers remain by-and-large the team to beat in the ACC as the top team. They went into hostile territory and defeated a ranked Louisville Cardinals team soundly behind a masterful performance on both sides of the ball.

The Tigers defense forced four sacks and a turnover against one of the best offenses in college football.

They held an offense averaging over 600 yards per game to just 433 yards and most of those came through the air (317 passing yards).

The Clemson offense also put up over 600 yards of offense themselves despite having a new starter at quarterback in Kelly Bryant.

Bryant looked rattled after the first scoring drive, but he shook off the nerves as he led three straight scoring drives to put Clemson up 19-7 at halftime.

After halftime, the Tigers poured it on with a 14-point third quarter to pull away. Bryant finished with 316 passing yards, 26 rushing yards, two rushing touchdowns and a passing touchdown.

Next up on the ACC schedule for Clemson is Boston College.
