Defensive end Trevon Hill is having quite the start to his redshirt sophomore season. He recorded his first sack of the season against East Carolina and also had a quarterback.

Hill finished the game with three tackles, two for a loss and a sack in the game. It was a dominant display put on by the Virginia Tech defense. They didn’t allow a point in the second half and forced three turnovers.

In the Virginia Tech Hokies’ season opener, Hill recorded his first career interception against West Virginia quarterback Will Grier.

As his role continues to expand on a young Virginia Tech defensive line, he continues to grow as a player. He’s coming into his own as a full-time starter after making three starts and 14 appearances in 2016.

Hill recorded 37 tackles, 6.0 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks in 2016. So far, he’s got 10 tackes, 3.5 tackles for loss, a sack, an interception and a fumble recovery to his credit in 2017.
