Don’t look now but Virginia Tech wide receiver Cam Phillips leads the nation in receiving yards. Phillips now sits at 417 receiving yards on the season after his big day against East Carolina.

He caught 14 receptions, a new school record, for a career-high 189 receiving yards and three touchdown catches. Phillips had himself a day as the Hokies’ offense exploded for 64 points in Week 3.

Phillips remains as Virginia Tech’s main target on offense as they look to return to the ACC Championship this season. He’s sure to give Old Dominion problems this week, as the North Carolina Tar Heels just lit them up for 53 points.

Phillips could have a record-setting season as he approaches Isaiah Ford on the all-time career receptions list. He passed Jarrett Boykins for second and sits at 192 career receptions entering Week 4.
