It will take a while for the Sooners to be knocked off the top of these rankings. More than likely, it will take a huge effort from another talented conference opponent to do so. Red River, Bedlam, and TCU stick out as the three games that OU fans should have circled on their calendars.

Senior quarterback Baker Mayfield is now the odds on favorite to win the Heisman, after a blowout loss from Louisville and former Heisman winner Lamar Jackson. Mayfield could boost his stats even more this week against Baylor.

There’s not much to say about the OU win over the Tulane Green Wave or UTEP Miners. Only their win over Ohio State keeps them in the top five in the AP Poll. Clemson’s win over Louisville bumped them down one spot, though.

Watch out for the Sooners to continue to dominate over their next two games as they face Baylor and Iowa State.
