It looked like Baylor finally made some progress against the Duke Blue Devils. Even though Baylor was a 14-point underdog, they still held their own in Week 3. The Sooners lie in waiting for the Bears in Week 4 which means they’ll likely stay winless.

The same team that lost to the Liberty Flames and UTSA Roadrunners did not show up last weekend. Sophomore quarterback Zach Smith got the start and looked to actually improve the offense a bit.

Head coach Matt Rhule still has a tall task in front of him to turn this program around, but we’ve seen some encouraging signs. Baylor’s defense seems better than any season with former head coach Art Briles commanding it.

Moving forward, Rhule needs to keep inching closer to getting Baylor competitive again. No one expects them to beat OU, but at least show some more improvement and put up a good fight.
