Iowa State put forward a dominant performance against the Akron Zips last week. The way quarterback Jacob Park and running back David Montgomery worked through the Akron defense to put up 41 points was quite impressive.

The duo of Allen Lazard and Trever Ryen at receiver gives the Cyclones an edge. They do have an offense that could keep up with some of the high-powered offenses in the Big 12. Iowa State also managed to competed with a good team in the Iowa Hawkeyes in Week 2.

The focus for Iowa State has been to make a bowl game. Second-year head coach Matt Campbell is making the proper strides and could get there soon. The Big 12 is good this year but easy wins could come against teams like Kansas and Baylor.
