Hurricane Irma forced UCF to sit out both of the past two weeks. Their conference showdown against Memphis is rescheduled for September 30. But the Knights lost an opportunity to take on Power Five competition when Georgia Tech’s visit to Orlando was canceled last weekend, and we only have one data point to go off of to assess this team.

That game was a 61-17 blowout of Florida International. Despite playing just that one game so far, UCF quarterback McKenzie Milton still leads the nation in passing efficiency. Against the Panthers, Milton threw for 360 yards and four touchdowns on 16-of-21 passing in only two and a half quarters. It was a standout performance by the sophomore after starting 10 games last season as a true freshman.

Scott Frost‘s team finally gets to take the field again in Week 4. Though they loss the home game against the Yellow Jackets, there is still another Power Five opportunity on the table. UCF heads to College Park to take on Maryland this weekend. The Terrapins knocked off Texas in Week 1 and enter this game undefeated. It is a solid test for the Knights as they look to position themselves as one of the preeminent Group of Five squads in the country.
