Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl

Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl: San Diego State (Group of Five) vs. Oklahoma State (at-large)
Where: Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Atlanta, Ga.)
When: Jan. 1, 2018, at noon ET on ESPN
Last week’s projection: South Florida vs. Oklahoma State

We are halfway though the month of September and we’ve seen our first change when it comes to the Group of Five, even though South Florida has defeated everybody in their path so far, it’s San Diego State who has the best Group of Five win during the 2017 season so far. Late Saturday night, the Aztecs took down Stanford at home and jumped into both the AP and Coaches polls. Although South Florida is ranked higher in both polls, it’s San Diego State who has the much better win right now.

As for their projected opponent, we will see what Oklahoma State is made of when they host TCU this weekend. Like two or three other teams that are undefeated and in NY6 bowls, the Cowboys are going to be like sharks circling chum in the water. If one of the top four teams loses, then Oklahoma State has a chance to make the top four and playing in the playoff.

Week 4 Impact: San Diego State travels to Air Force in what some and when I say some, I’m talking about myself as this game is a potential slip up for the Aztecs. Oklahoma State also has a tough game but they are at home against TCU. Both have a chance of losing and if they do, South Florida slides right back into the Group of Five spot. If Oklahoma State loses, how does a Peach Bowl with Georgia sound?
