College Football 2017: What did we learn from week 3?
The honeymoon is over in Baton Rouge as much as I hate to admit it
I loved the Ed Oregron hiring at LSU, he’s the perfect type of coach for the Tigers. Great on defense and when given the chance to put in the right offensive coordinators, there’s a chance for the Tigers offense to do some really good things. Saturday night was not one of those nights.
In recent years, the LSU and Mississippi State game has given us strange moments and weird games. LSU dropping one at home to Mississippi State back in 2014 and last Saturday’s 37-7 defeat in Starkville. LSU’s offense is still finding it’s way under new offensive coordinator Matt Canada and I think you can make a case for the low offensive output but seven points is seven points, especially at the college level.
If anything, Saturday night’s vomit-worthy performance against Mississippi State was the perfect thing for people who were anti-Oregron point at his lack of success as an actual head coach compared to an interim. All of the sudden, LSU’s prince of Baton Rouge has now seen his purple and gold image tarnished and now a tricky SEC schedule awaits them.
What is the image and feel LSU fans are going to have after coach o’s first full season as the LSU HC, only time will tell.
