NFL Mock Draft 2018: Complete first round after Week 3
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense looks to be headed in the right direction with quarterback Jameis Winston under center.
The Buccaneers defense was a handful for the Chicago Bears in their season opener. Their 29-7 victory was a good one, but they’ll face a lot tougher teams down the road.
They’ve got the room to add some depth on the defensive line, drafting a defensive tackle is one way to go.
The way Clemson Tigers defensive tackle Christian Wilkins is playing of late is hard to ignore.
Tampa Bay could definitely use the youth with 30-year-old Chris Baker currently on the roster. Baker didn’t play any snaps against the Bears in Tampa’s season opener.
Wilkins has played well for the defending national champions in 2017. He had a tackle, a tackle for loss and a sack against the 19th-ranked Louisville Cardinals and quarterback Lamar Jackson.
So far, Wilkins has 12 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and 3.0 sacks on the season. His production continues to go up as the year progresses.
He’s a top defensive lineman in this year’s class and shaping up to be a top 10 pick.
